Good question. No, I added the "Activities" widget. I have now added the "Activity Bar" and get the following output when left-clicking: Error loading QML file:
file:///usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.activitybar/contents/ui/m ain.qml:24:1: module "org.kde.activities" is not installed
Maybe this is the problem, I have no "org.kde.activities" file or path according to locate.
I think this might be a possible reason for your problem, yes. The org.kde.activities QML module is contained in the package kactivities5- imports. So install that package if it is not installed, or reinstall it ("zypper in -f kactivities5-import", or "Update Unconditionally" in YaST) if it is already installed. Apparently this is only recommended, at least I can uninstall it here in 13.2 without rpm complaining. If it is indeed the reason for your problem, the package dependencies should probably be changed.
ps: from google I find: qdbus org.kde.kglobalaccel /component/plasma_desktop invokeShortcut "manage activities"
which provides: qdbus org.kde.kglobalaccel /component/plasma_desktop invokeShortcut "manage activities"
Maybe this helps?
I don't see how. This just invokes the keyboard shortcut to open the activities manager. As it doesn't work when you click on it or press the keyboard shortcut, this qdbus command won't work either.
