As that machine is connected to my TV via HDMI, it has raised another problem: the display blanks as soon as YaST tries to start. Never mind, at least I got to see the penguins. Twice actually, as I tried the USB drive and the DVD but both blanked at the same point.
Now looks as if a couple of bug reports may be necessary. Or one bug report and a new hard drive as a late Xmas present to myself. We'll see.
I have my desktop accessing a monitor and the TV and must have access to both in order to login. No matter how I configure, the screens will not provide login on *only* the monitor in graphic mode.
On the machine in question, I am using it with openSUSE 13.2 and Windows-7 quite happily with just an HDMI connection; I don't have a choice as the TV doesn't have a DVI connector. As I only recently bought the TV, I was a bit unsure as to whether I'd tried an install before so I've checked and found that openSUSE 13.2 DVD installs OK. On installation of Tumbleweed, I've tried a couple of other video settings apart from "default" but had no luck; however, "text" is OK. I'll get on with bug reports in a little while. -- Graham Davis [Retired Fortran programmer - now a mere computer user] openSUSE 13.2 (64-bit); KDE 4.14.3; AMD Phenom II X2 550 Processor; Kernel: 3.17.2; Video: nVidia GeForce 210 (using nVidia driver); Sound: ATI SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
