All I have seen sofar is a slightly smaller initrd, which is largely irrelevant, except maybe to desktops which are booted more often and where the initrd can be quite large.
2) there may be real problems with the switch, that we only find out by switching ASAP. This "let's patch every occurrence of 'initrd'" effort only delays the switch for questionable benefit.
If we start opening bugreports on dracut, will anyone actually look at them? I've played with dracut a couple of times, and always ended up getting stuck on network and iSCSI support.
