I'm doing zypper dup in a VM with btrfs, the dup fails like shown below. exception_8h.html is currently a file. Is this just an intermediate state between 12.3 and 13.1, or will a dist upgrade now likely fail?
Olaf
btrfstune -r <device> will fix this.
As he is doing zypper dup he has older btrfs-progs so he can't exec that command, awesome huh. Nor he can use 12.3 dvd in that manner.
The kernel in the next release will have the ability to do this while the fs is mounted via echo 1 > /sys/fs/btrfs/<fsid>/features/extended_iref
And that solves the problem how, as if you do zypper dup which is our update mechanism for openSUSE you still have old kernel booted in. Basically from 12.3 to 13.1 you need to run installer to get over it, zypper dup will never be sufficient as you have no tools available at hand to migrate the btrfs layout before the update. Also possibility is to revert the %fdupes call on the imagemagick to ensure the dup works and just put it in effect later on which should not deem trouble. Tom
