I might have to run a newer benchmark though. This[1] one's newer, and looks a lot better for ext4.
In general, database workloads are special, and the dumber the FS the better.

Do check out the previous page with MySQL benchmarks, showing the opposite. It's not quite so clear-cut anymore (it used to be ext3 winning all the time, but now it's not that ext4 wins all the time either).
