Did you mean UEFI ? it only supports FAT32 AFAIK.

With UEFI, the uefi-parameter-data partion will be mounted
INSIDE /boot as /boot/efi, AFAIK, and yes the format is fat32.

The bootloader is a whole other kettle of fish.
