Whatever ... It's well-documented, standard usage, and the correct manner in which to link to a specific library.
I personally think the current solution is fine: different liblua* packages are installable in parallel but only one lua-devel. I'd rather not go through update-alternatives to switch all include-files and the library symlinks.
