Yes, we have that already on our TODO list: See https://sourceforge.net/p/daps/tickets/98/ We create all of our formats from DocBook and convert them with the help of the DocBook stylesheets to different formats, including EPUB. However, there is no direct way from DocBook to Mobi pocket. Our plan is to improve our doc mechanics so it will support Mobi pocket in the (near) future too.
Yes, we can all do this ourselves, but reducing steps for users so they can just download and read right away might be a good measure.
