Hi Ralf, please check https://build.openSUSE.org/request/show/131140 To me it's clear that this is much to late for openSUSE 12.2. On Fri, Aug 17, 2012 at 11:35:15PM +0200, lynn wrote:

Hi,
If there is a specific reason to include a newer version of a package it can also be delivered by maitnenance update.
The 0.8.x series has major improvements for Active Directory LDAP integration. e.g. now, it looks in the DN for group membership. With Samba4 just around the corner, I think that this may become very useful. Ubuntu already have it.
It's not such a big pain to build it myself it would be a step forward I think if we had an official openSUSE rpm for it in 12.2
The stable version is 0.8.10. Tested against 12.2 RC2 with a Samba4 AD.
IMHO it doesn't make sense to push it without wider testing into openSUSE 12.2. As soon as we see defect reports filed we might consider an upgrade of nss-pam-ldapd later. It's not enough if it got used sucessfully by one user. Cheers, Lars -- Lars Müller [ˈlaː(r)z ˈmʏlɐ] Samba Team + SUSE Labs SUSE Linux, Maxfeldstraße 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany
