Quoting Ilya Chernykh
I wonder how such behavior could make its way into release:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=476123
It makes impression that openSUSE is an unprofessional product with bugs in anywhere, even when conduncting simplies operations with zypper. The bug was introduced with transition from 11.4 to 12.1.
I have one openSUSE user to whom I help to use and maintain the system but this bug is the reason why I still di not upgrade their system to 12.1 Once they bsee such theings they will immediately think openSUSE is extremy buggy and not production-ready.
We could as well argue that YOU as part of the community did not do your assigned task and tested the product before it goes to the masses. It's is *OUR* product, US, as this community! You feel part of it, don't you? So it's YOUR product as well, isn't it? As for the bug: a link to the report is more helpful. It's rather useless for all of us to investigate the content of the tar file... and we're talking about software, so yes, I GUARANTEE that there are bugs in it! (Actually, in no case can you prove the absence of a bug in source) Try to be more constructive in your mails, choose your words, especially if you want anybody to read your mails and maybe even to come to a solution with the problem stated. The wording make a huge difference in motivating volunteers to pick up that work, promised!
