Tumbleweed should be done as usual. Dup is only for the distribution upgrade, not for standard updates. You use 'dup' when for example going from 11.4 to
12.1 or Tumbleweed. After that one operation of upgrading your distribution, you use normal updates.
No. Greg explicitly always states that Tumbleweed *must* be updated with "zypper dup".
The default behavior of Apper should be fine. Be sure to check the more recent documentation concerning the way Tumbleweed is being handled post 12.1 for more details.
