I have tried to install the beta version. Unfortunately all I get after the installer copied all the files and tried to reboot:
Starting YaSt2 error: can't create transaction lock on /var/lib/rpm/.rpm.lock (No such file or directory). Therefore installation does not finish and the system does not work at all...
I'm pretty certain I saw the same message, but my system installed fine regardless.

I (guess) to have installed 12.1 Beta starting from "12 M5" via zypper dup after adding Factory repos in place of old 12 ones.
(But may be I'm on Factory and not on Beta (??))
This bug only affects new installations.
I'm using this pre-release as guest on VirtualBox.
Anyway I noticed that system doesn't boot in graphic mode just in text-mode.
That's completely unrelated to this bug (and likely a systemd problem, booting with sysv init should fix it).
If I try to start the graphic by "startx" I get an error message from X.
Since /usr/bin/Xorg isn't suid in 12.1 startx can be expected to not work any more. -- Guido Berhoerster -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
