In the partitioner I found that partition numbers did not agree with the output of fdisk. This is not so problematic since I am able to identify partitions from their size but there is another problem that can be more dangerous: the partitioner wants to delete existing partitions and create them again (with the same size and number); if I remove the "format" flag, I obtain a popup saying that the installation might fail (or something similar) and I have not found a way to avoid partition changes, even in the expert mode.
I am testing the installer in a virtual machine using the installation from hard-disk. If I use the "Create Partition Setup", then I see all partitions with the right number and I can assing a mount point without formatting and this is accepted (except for a warning popup); if I try to modify suggested partitioning using "Edit Partition Setup", the content of the partitions can not be saved, the order of partition numbers do not agree with the relative position of partitions on the disk and the space corresponding to the old /boot partition is lost. So, it seems to me that partitioner behavior is right, except for partition numbers and lost space. Any comment?
