Side note. I would like to help with testing, but don't understand virtualization on Linux. If someone could walk me through over private e-mail that would be great. I would install outright, except that I need my computers functional.
best way is multi-boot. What we need the most to test is the hardware and there the virtualisation don't help :-)
I don't believe that to be true. Although real hardware is needed to test some bugs, a lot of them can be tested on the virtualized hardware. My conclusion is that both kinds of tests are needed.
I love testing new systems on virtual machines, because I can create a low end machine and test the performance. IMHO, that´s very important to the system, because we don´t need any tests on high-end machines (okay, we need, but not so many like on low-end) but on low end machines because *only* with that way, we can promise our users that our system works on their machines, no matter how low-level they are. thanks -- -o) Kim Leyendecker /\\ openSUSE Ambassador, openSUSE Wiki Team DE _\_v http://www.opensuse.org - Linux for open minds -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
