I've had a couple issues with the 2.6.39.* kernels and my USB encrypted disk as of late.
I'm not sure where to report issues like this, so I'll try here first :)
Usually use bugzilla.novell.com.
I had this one a few days ago, which caused me to perform a hard-shutdown since the kernel was entirely unresponsive to subsequent commands:
[10442.616391] usb 1-1.4: USB disconnect, device number 6 [10680.476108] INFO: task umount:6641 blocked for more than 120 seconds. [10680.476112] "echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message.
This isn't a "oops", but not really that nice.
This happened this morning when I was preparing for work, the machine still recovered somehow and I was able to suspend to RAM and come to the office:
[81415.624703] usb 1-1.4.2: USB disconnect, device number 10 [111638.731529] usb 2-1: USB disconnect, device number 2 [111638.737149] BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 0000000000000068 [111638.737179] IP: [<ffffffff81288b4b>] elv_put_request+0xb/0x30
This is a bit too frequent for lots of people, and hopefully should be fixed in the 3.0 kernel release, so wait a few days for that to hit Tumbleweed and you should be fine. thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
