Even better would be to bundle it, IMO. There's already kernel-firmware that includes some firmwares.
The kernel-firmware package only includes firmware bundles that we are legally allowed to distribute. The qualcom firmware is not able to be distributed at all, last time we asked. And, it's different depending on the carrier that you are using, so be careful in getting the correct firmware, otherwise it might not work properly. Novell did ship one preloaded machine with this firmware, but we were specifically allowed to ship the firmware only on that one machine model, and only for one specific carrier, in one specific country. Despite our best efforts, they would not allow us to do anything else, which of course meant we can not add it to the openSUSE repo :( sorry, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
