Hello,
my main concern is the fact that no mention is made for which version of what distro these bugs are. Have a look at the mail headers - they contain several X-Bugzilla-*

If you are more interested in *new* bugs, there might be another way:
1) use my search "new bugs (-3d)" or "new bugs (-7d)" which will give you new openSUSE bugreports from the last 3 or 7 days. These searches are available in bugzilla under Preferences - Saved searches. (This also implies that you have to check bugzilla every 3 or 7 days at least.)
If a followup is sent on an existing bug, there is no mention of version and distro the bug is filed against. This means, one has to click the link in the mail, to go to the bugzilla, to find out about this. With 200+ mails a day this is a rather large task. Certainly at the start. this is the bugzilla itself you are talking about, which is correct, and i've been using this effective method already some time ago.. (until other things took my attention, and i only have 24 hours in a day as everybody, but a very limited amount of hours can be used for other things than are necessary to keep everything on track here.)
2a) add yourself to the CC of bugs that are interesting to you
This is the preferable way to stay 'in touch' with the bugchanges, i agree.
- or -
2b) mark bugs interesting for you with a tag in bugzilla using the "named tag" bar at the bugzilla footer. You'll then get this tag as search in the footer. This is my current way to monitor various bugs - the list of bugs I tagged with "watchlist" is quite long... (Hint: sorting your bugzilla list by "last changed" is recommended to make this method useful.) Indeed.....you are right. You need to be 'in' the bugzilla to track. Following the bugs from the bugmailinglist is not the way to 'watch' or help solving bugs..
