tks, got it, but at ftp://down.load.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/190.36/<package>
I haven't read the README file, but I think your card should be supported.
It is listed as supported in the /usr/share/doc/README.txt
NVidia has always been very quick to respond to reported problems. Using the forum I have always found an answer quickly and that's been over several years and all the kernel changes.
May go there and report. Haven't tried the 190.36-pkg2 version yet, but the 185.18.31 has not crashed yet. Will not try the 190.36 until/unless it does or I have another reason to leave X.
Very wise, hope it stays up. The forum is just the place to report problems and get a speedy response from NVidia or members of the forum.
You want to try getting something like radeonhd working on some chipsets like AMD's Xpress 1250 or Radeon 9600 I have in a couple of laptops, sometimes you can, sometimes you cannot.
I purposely avoid intel and ati/adm video, until they appear to become supportive rather than just publicizing :^)
tks,
I try avoiding them also, but most of the available laptops are based on those. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ...
