I decided that I wanted to use DVD r/w media in the future so as to not have to throw away inexpensive DVD write once media.
My first attempt failed though using K3B as when I went to erase it and write once again K3B no longer saw the media as writable. I am sure I did something stupid and allowed K3B to fixate the DVD. If so can someone be clear what they think I need to be careful of please.
Any comments?
Try to erase media first, as a separate operation, not as a part of new write process. If above fails then check permissions on /dev/dvd, but look at real device, usually /dev/sr0 . Both you can do with 'll /dev/dev' , to see where it links, and then 'll /dev/sr0' , if that is device where /dev/dvd points to. If not sure how to interpret results, or they make no sense (look right, but k3b doesn't work anyway), post result of second command here. -- Regards, Rajko http://news.opensuse.org/category/people-of-opensuse/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
