: I know what it is to work at a vendor and I know what it's like to be the interface between users and 3rd party vendors (aka Partners), that's why I think Novell/SUSE should be the one that receives our "complaints" and Novell/SUSE forwards them upstream, not us (end users).
IOW, we report bugs to _our_ source, in this case openSUSE. Our upstream is openSUSE. This might sound harsh but it has to be said.
We're a community, not paying customers. Sometimes it makes sense for the bug to go upstream, and we can help by following the issue up. At first it may appear (as in this case) like a packaging issue, with a script not adapted from Fedora. They is no doubt that a case can be made for bugs to go directly upstream. However, with the 'dumbing down/easing of use' of Linux, that kinda goes out the window. It is far easier for bugs to be reported in one place for triaging,
