I know I saw a post which explained that the Factory updates would be less frequent now that there are builds going on for RC1 (or something along that line).
I'm new to Factory so I don't know what the previous frequency was but I'm only seeing new packages for Factory about once a week. Is this the expected frequency?
I'm not complaining; I just thought that I'd be able to do a significant amount of testing leading up to the release date but at this frequency my testing is pretty much irrelevant. There would only be 2 more Factory "releases" before the official launch so I don't feel that I'm contributing in any significant way to the testing effort.
I have a few bug tickets and at least one that has a posted solution:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=434598
but I have no clue how to test it as there are no updates for Factory at this time. If I'm reading the bug report correctly, the only way to test would be to have the source for that package, apply the patch and recompile?
No, this is not the usual frequency, but Factory is disabled completely for the moment. And 11.1 is disconnected from Factory anyway, so it has different bugs already :)
so, to clarify, Factory now builds the next openSUSE as in 11.2? if you were using Factory to track 11.1 progress, you should not use Factory any more... openSUSE 11.1 builds are not available until they shows up on http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.1/repo/oss/
