After launching eclipse and within few minutes, I get this strange error dialog: "Could not initialize the application's security component...".
I cannot even figure out the source of this, and nothing in .xsession-errors It must be something new in gnome. Any clues?
Its a firefox/xulrunner error.
As per: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eclipse/+bug/188380
Creating ~/.mozilla/eclipse seems to be the key.
Maybe wolfgang has some more clues.
I wonder if I have seen a bugreport about it? Yes, https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=383702 A bit of background info: If Eclipse is somehow embedding part of xulrunner and is using the NSS component they need a directory to initialize the NSS components. Otherwise NSS won't initialize. The Ubuntu bug suggests Eclipse is trying to use NSS but doesn't create a profile directory for it. And https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=206432 says that's fixed in Eclipse 3.4 and probably could be backported if needed.
