Yeah, you pick one environment and then later add-ons. So you're defining this way if your system should be a KDE system with GNOME addon or a GNOME system with KDE addon.
I agree - after all you can only have one primary desktop environment and in the vast majority of cases people (can?) only use one desktop environment at a time.
You're missing the point of my original proposal. Although, I see some of the technical issues Coolo and others have pointed out. I too use only one DE (GNOME), but I install both GNOME and KDE and give myself the chance to observe both in action before deciding which desktop to choose from. New users shouldn't have to be making their decision on which Environment to use based on a two-sentence description on the Installer page. Only after having both to play with in real life can you truly settle on a primary environment of your choice. How can you not otherwise?
