Hi list, I just attempted to get my yast2 working again, by downgrading, using zypper. It suggested A whole lot of removals and upgrades. I thought ok at least it will get me going again. Anyway, it somehow removed itself (zypper) and then failed taking half my system with it. I can't file a bug report until I get firefox or kde back even then what was the bug? I've got zypper working by manualy installing rpms and am trying to recover kde etc. A possible clue is the following message from zypper which I select retry. Media source 'http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-Factory-non-oss/inst-source-ext...' does not contain the desired medium
Abort, retry, ignore? [A/r/i]: r
Hm. This does not indicate much. When did it occur? What happened after you typed 'r'?
I'll be happy to hand my zypper logs over but I really can't think what bug to file.
I'm not sure either. What system do you have installed, what zypper command did you invoke? What repositories do you have defined? And finally, what do you think went wrong and how did you want it to be?
Cheers,
jano Hi Jano, I tried to reply from both google and yahoo mail sites (I have no suse anymore, this is somebody elses vista box) this comes from windows mail and hopefully it doesn't get bounced as well. Zypper not only uninstalls itself but while attempting to recover from the first mess it uninstalled rpm and then could not reinstall the software it had removed which happened to be most of my system. I have to backup logs, homes etc. and install from scratch. I only have a 10.3 beta2 cd. I've filed a bug. Thanks Dave Plater
