Is there anything in the shutdown scripts that would have been changed as a result of the removal of smbmount, smbumount, smbmnt from samba-client and smbfs from the kernel? Now since restoring smbfs function to one of my systems, init 6 no longer causes a reboot if there are smbfs mounts. If I 'umount -a; init 6' then I get a near normal reboot (some expected shutdown messages never appear). If I init 6 with smbfs mounts still on, then init 6 goes through some shutdown motions and stops. If after some time I hit enter on the console used to do init 6, I get a prompt returned. If I then init 2, I get a near instant reboot. :-p -- " Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."
