I haven't yet braved 10.2 (I'm using 10.1 for daily desktop work), but I am curious: On the last few versions, including 10.1, I have had to create a file /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/90-nosync.fdi which contains: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <deviceinfo version="0.2"> <device> <!-- disable sync for mount --> <match key="block.is_volume" bool="true"> <match key="volume.fsusage" string="filesystem"> <match key="@info.parent:storage.bus" string="usb"> <merge key="volume.policy.mount_option.sync" type="bool">false</merge> </match> </match> </match> </device> </deviceinfo> The purpose of course is to turn off sync on usb keyfobs because of the terrible throughput rate that results if sync is on. Has this been fixed for 10.2? Or will I need to create this file again if I upgrade? --Jon Robison
