Adrian, maybe, but there's a temptation to run those using wine. You could the programs also (as someone pointed out already) "README", "icon.tif", "or "init.sql". I think: Eithewr use no extension or a useful one. Arguments like "have the same file name in Windows and UNIX simply sucks. (Occasionally I see files on UNIX named like "C:\tempfile"... arggh...)
