less than 6 times 700 MB.
Ok, so they should fit on one DVD.
I asume (hope) that the 6th CD is in the same layout as the other 5. The reason I am wondering about the above two, is so that people can use makeSUSEdvd (or any other means) and burn a DVD from either CD1-6 or from the downloadable DVD + CD 6.
The 6th CD will be a so called "add-on" CD and those details are currently worked out. I doubt you can add it easily to the other 5 CDs,
What would be the problem by having a layout like CD 3, 4 or 5? e.g. CD3-5 has one directory media.X, several small files and one directory suse with all the rpm's. OK. CD 1 and 2 are different as they are bootable.
We have the challenge that during a normal "OSS" installation, no non-OSS software should get installed. Doing it with the AddOn CD allows this in the best way. With your suggestion, we would have to add the metadata of the non-OSS packages to CD1.
Even if CD6 has a seperate named directory like EXTRA with all the stuff in it, instead of suse, that should be enough to get it on a DVD iso. Or some in suse and some in EXTRA so create_package_descr works.
Please consider this when making the ISO. Thanks.
Let us play with this a bit... Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj/ SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126
