Bad Karma in windows CD
if the cdrom cannot read CDs in boot (bootable CD)
there are two reasons
Shrecked CD Roma ( you must have to change it)
Dirty CD, You must clean the CDrom lens with air ( do not use compressed
air) use a Camera tool kit for cleaning lenses and cameras and you should
use only air,
or Buy a CD cleaner and use it.
and preventive check every CD before use it must be clean.

Subject: [SLE] cdrom drive problem
Date: Sun, 19 Oct 2003 16:51:00 +0200
Dear list,
i have a problem with my cdrom drive (a fairly standard creative device). It
always worked perfectly, but today i tried to read a windows cd with it
(containing the demo of a multimedia encyclopedia - don't know whether this
is relevant) and it failed to detect that there was a cdrom in the drive,
after grating for a while.
the problem is that now it fails to read ALL other kinds of cds, even those
that were read without any problem: it grates for a while, and then i get a
"medium not found" error message
It seems to be a hardaware problem, as even when i reboot the system with
the
suse boot cd, it fails to read it.
any idea of what the problem could be would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
federico
