I wonder how the edexcel gods would react to being presented with a Scribus based dtp mini project or screenshots of mysql-jdbc in OOo for things more compulsory. Steve.
I don't know but the AQA moderators of AS and A2 did not seem to understand Knoda - attempting to sort this one. The AQA set GCSE assignment will be interesting this year - using OO.o for merged data and for database queries! regards garry
Any examiner comments we get are based purely on the hard copy that the student has produced even though there are clear invitations to use the included cd of their work or indeed go online and prove that e.g. the database is as was specified and that the queries work.
<OT>What is AQA? With edexcel we have to produce 4 pieces of coursework from differing areas of ict. I'd much rather one set project like the one you mention.</OT> Cheers, Steve.
Its the new incarnation of the old NEAB examiing board. www.aqa.org.uk The GCSE specification is one board set project with about 4 sub tasks, and one traditional project for 60% of the marks. regards garry
