We've rolled out Open Office on all our dektop machines (Win NT, Win2K and LTSP). Everyone is happy except that they are starting to scream for database functionality - by which they actually machine something like MS Access. I've played with an ODBC connection to a locally hosted MySQL setup on a Windows box and the 'Form Autopilot' looks like it will do what we need. We have a Linux box suitably equipped to host MySQL databases for all the kids. I need to tackle the Windows clients first, and need to set things up so that when a kid logs in and runs Open Office they are automatically presented with their own database as a datasource. Has anyone done this yet? If so, advice would be most welcome. Cheers -- Phil Driscoll
