We have tried a bunch of "educational" software, all microsoft based. I find very little educational value in ANY of it, including the big name brands. Computer to me are like the hand tools in the hands of a Master Carpenter building a fine piece of furniture. They are only tools. StarOffice, Publishing software, Internet research etc. is the real meat of computing. But actual learning, education, must come from students being immersed in reading, writing, and math. It must be gentle and nurturing, or the kid never learns to love reading etc., and instead, like MOST of us, not enjoy writing for pleasure, and hate grammar. Keith
