Don't copy the WIndows roaming profile mess.
I must admit that I'm not really knowledgable about roaming profiles -- can you describe what's wrong with them, and how in your opinion the deficiencies could be improved? Thanks :)
I'd suggest going back more towards the old fashioned unix style global and per user config files. But with the addition that the global config file also contains directives to say if a value can be overridden by a local configuration file, if the end user can alter settings.
That's something that I will certainly be considering, if I manage to ever get this project off the ground :) - -- Cheers, Chris Howells -- chris@chrishowells.co.uk, howells@kde.org Web: http://chrishowells.co.uk, PGP key: http://chrishowells.co.uk/pgp.txt KDE: http://www.koffice.org, http://edu.kde.org, http://usability.kde.org - -- Cheers, Chris Howells -- chris@chrishowells.co.uk, howells@kde.org Web: http://chrishowells.co.uk, PGP key: http://chrishowells.co.uk/pgp.txt KDE: http://www.koffice.org, http://edu.kde.org, http://usability.kde.org -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8C8ZDF8Iu1zN5WiwRAtgdAKCkPTsdgOpuOSlnmgPvj4WEPivlSQCfd5ed 07BzC8HIVEPNohqun8YEeS8= =upsr -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
