Could anyone advise me on the following problem. I have this in my squid.conf acl schoolhours time MTWHFA 08:30-18:00 acl lessons time MTWHFA 09:00-11:10 acl lessons2 time MTWHFA 11:30-13:00 acl lessons3 time MTWHF 14:00-15:30 acl badURL url_regex -i "/usr/local/squid/etc/badwords.ban" acl banned dstdomain "/usr/local/squid/etc/domains.ban" acl bannedip dst "/usr/local/squid/etc/ips.ban" acl email dstdomain "/usr/local/squid/etc/email.ban" acl files urlpath_regex -i "/usr/local/squid/etc/files.ban" http_access deny all banned http_access deny all bannedip #http_access deny all badURL #http_access deny all files #http_access deny all email http_access deny all email schoolhours #http_access deny all email lessons #http_access deny all email lessons2 #http_access deny all email lessons3 http_access allow all And things work fine. But when I un-comment the badURL and files http_access lines I suddenly get problems on various other sites. eg search.yahoo.com to which I attribute the problem to be the search parameters including ? and other weird characters. Another problem is the msn page (after logging out of hotmail) if you hit the hotmail link it takes you to a page of: http://msn.co.uk/redir.asp?STARTID=TAB_HOTMAIL&URL=http://www.hotmail.com that seems to hit the filter :/ But these should be unrelated to the 'badURL' and 'files'. badURL (badwords.ban) = ^http://*xxx* ^http://*eggs* ^http://*sausages* ^http://*bacon* ^http://*education* (we don't like breakfast of learning at this place.. honest) files (files.ban) = \.exe$ \.zip$ \.com$ \.mp3$ \.wav$ Now.. to the questions. Is there something wrong with the definitions in the fiules and the definition of the file contents in the acl declaration? Why am I seeing problems on other pages?? Many thanks --Azrael _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
