So - die hoffentlich glücklich machende Antwort lautet: es geht auch
ohne komplizierte "würgarounds"...:
Dazu sind derzeit noch manuelle Änderungen in der
Datei /var/SuSE/std+win.xml nötig, die aber nicht allzu schwer sind und
auch (neben einer überarbeiteten Boot-CD für die 9.1) im nächsten
Update enthalten sein werden. Wer also bei der Installation von Win9x
auf Probleme stösst, der kann die folgenden Änderungen schon einmal
manuell vorweg nehmen:

Also: Die Windows-Partitionen (mit je 4GB Größe) kommen an den Beginn
der Platte und werden als Primäre Partitionen deklariert. Damit dürfte
einer anschließenden Installation von Windows nun nichts mehr im Wege
stehen.
Aber bitte beachten, dass nach der Installation von Windows der
Bootmanager neu eingerichtet werden muss. Dazu bitte über eine Linux-CD
das installierte Linux-System booten und den Linux-Bootmanager neu
einrichten (nicht vergessen, die zusätzliche Windows-Partition
einzutragen).
