Das hält *generell* nur *sehr* begrenzt. # grep wtmp /etc/logfiles /var/log/wtmp +400k 664 root.tty # ls /var/log/wtmp* | wc -l 62 # ls -lart /var/log/wtmp* | head -n 1 -rw-rw-r-- 1 root tty 10569 Oct 7 2003 /var/log/wtmp-031008.gz Tja, ich hab da mal ein bisserl (ca. die ersten 4 Jahre) weggeräumt... Und 'last | tail' liefert bei mir gerade mal den 16.12.2006... Und 400k für wtmp ist ok. Das sind sogar bei der 10.2 noch 400k (siehe /etc/logrotate.d/wtmp). -dnh PS: jup, obiges ist auf der wohl spätestens am 15.8.99 installierten (ex-) SuSE 6.2 (so Kram ist noch "originool" ;)) --
