kann mir jemand das Mysql-Anfangspaswort sagen? Ich habe Mysql ganz frisch installiert, aber kann das Passwort nicht setzen.

"connect to server failed" könnte bedeuten, daß mysql gar nicht läuft. Was sagt ein rcmysql status ? Starte ihn bei Bedarf neu (mit rcmysql restart z.B.).
Möglicherweise hast Du schon ein Passwort gesetzt, aber hast es nicht beim Kommando mit übergeben. Benutze -p, damit er danach fragt: mysqladmin -uroot password 'passwort' -p Wenn Du das Passwort nicht kennst, dann sieht es schlecht aus. Standardmäßig ist keines drauf. Ich habe es gerade mal auf einem 9.2er System probiert: is39:~ # yast2 Command: /sbin/yast2 sw_single & is39:~ # rcmysql start Creating MySQL privilege database and starting MySQL...
