Hi,
I have a very puzzling problem. I have two almost identical installations of SuSE 7.1 in my office at the university (athlon 1.3 GHz) and at home (P166) with kernel 2.4. I am able to ssh-login at home from the office and then back to the office, but I am not able to ssh-login from home (Telus/ADSL) into my office machine. Ping from home also doesn't work. If I login at other Unix machines at the university, I can ping my office, as long as I begin the process at the UofA. Ssh from within the university to my office also works most of the time (occasionally it doesn't).

The firewalls (general and personal) in my Yast2/rc.config are disabled and there is no firewall in the department network. Telnet and rlogin are disabled in Yast2/inetd. I copied the settings of ssh.config and sshd_config from our dept. server (which runs RedHat), but it also didn't help.
Any idea what I should try? You are welcome to try to contact my office machine on the IP address 129.128.14.74.
Thanks, Carlos
