Infos zum Canon Backend unter http://www.rzg.mpg.de/~mpd/sane/ Ausschnitt aus letzterer Adresse: Supported [Canon] scanners The backend has been primarily developed with a CanoScan 2700F. It is known to work also with the following models: * CanoScan 300 * CanoScan 600 * (CanoScan MS-4/500 will be supported in the next version) * FB620S: it works with a patched version contributed by Mitsuru Okaniwa. See the download section below. * FS2710: it works with a patched version contributed by Ulrich Deiters. See the download section below. It works partially with the following models: * IX-4015: you have to make a simple modification in the backend sources, then it seems to work. See the archived mailing list for details. The modification will be included in the next backend release. * CanoScan FB1200S: it works with resolutions up to 600 dpi at 8 bit color depth. If you set it to 12 bits per color, you get the kind of problems described above for model FS2710. If you try a resolution above 600 dpi, the scanner produces some kind of interlaced image which the backend currently is not able to swallow. This, too, given sufficient time and scanner documentation, could be changed. You could try the patches for the FB620S and FS2710, which might give you better results. This has not been tested yet, so if you do, please report it! Gruss Norbert
