Hallo Liste,
Du kannst ja mithelfen eine OSS-Lösung zu programmieren: Projects that need developers An "append to tape" mode. Write to multiple tapes in parallel. Split the dump into chunks on different holding disks. Allow large filesystems to be split into multiple tape sections, and even to span across tapes. Allow different compression programs to be used with amanda. Check this post for more information on this project. Define mechanisms to select which levels to run, and which tapes to write them to. The STRATEGY-API file in the latest amanda snapshots describes the idea in general. Optionally use smbwrapper and GNU tar instead of smbclient to perform SAMBA backups. Port at least the Amanda client to MS-Windows. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ -- __ .´ `. bye : :' ! Waldemar `. `´ Debian/GNU Linux `-
