Hi,
I have reviewed some of the failures of the Contrib repo on 11.3 and there are a few packages which might be fixed by upgrades to a newer version, some have coding failures which are not tolerated by the newer GCC and some because of missing dependencies.
I have fixed a couple of build failures where the fix was simple and obvious. But in other cases, I hope maintainers can provide build fixes which are not too invasive.
Some are definite candidates for a drop:
xlogmaster - missing gtk-devel dropped
workrave - needs kde3sdk - move to KDE3 ?
tangerine - needs beagle-devel
antiword - needs glib-devel, but in this case antiword is still useful for other packages
In addition, these packages fail:
The objective of this exercise was to try an avoid bit rot of packages in Contrib which may have been submitted for earlier versions, but now fail on with the latest versions of openSUSE.
Thanks, Peter
Sorry for the late reply, I've got weeds growng in my contrib folder, you should announce the packages being dropped on the factory list before dropping them. Maybe somebody will miss them.
