Hi, I have put into openSUSE:Tools:MeeGo a release Candidate of OBS 1.8.0. It is done from the current 1.8 branch in OBS Git repository (and from master "osc" and "build" scripts). Martin ------------------------------------------------------------------------ OBS has the following Feature Highlights: * Access Control Enforcement: Group and Role Support, Permissions with granularity on Package, Repository and Project wide resources * Improved Crossbuild Support: PowerPC Emulation now works, Added support for *dynamic switching* of cross compilation and native compilation, e.g. on native ARM machines arm compilers are used, on x86 Servers arm *cross compilers* are used. The user does not have to take care of this anymore. One build can now *mix both*. * KVM Virtual Machine Support as security enhancement and safety belt for building. Works also with ARM builds (emulated) and PowerPC (native on proper HW and emulated) builds now. * Download on Demand: Coupling of OBS to *non OBS systems and repositories*. Any internet based Distribution using Debian or RPM format can be used. * Enhanced support for ARM by providing own architectures armv4 up to armv7 with own scheduler queues and appropriate OBS handling. The appropriate "osc" and "build" packages needed are also placed in the openSUSE:Tools:MeeGo. An osc update is needed to have "CB{pre}install: aka *dynamic switching* of cross compilation" working, same with "build" script. The qemu-deploy package is a new version that can run PowerPC user mode Emulation for diverse PPC targets correctly. Caution: it is a prerelease, and has some known issues reported in the 32bit version, as well as when used on a multiprocessor Host Machine. If you feel unsafe with this, use the old qemu under openSUSE:Tools -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org
