on opensuse <=11.1, centos, fedora, etc this can be fixed by adding this to the spec file:
%build CXXFLAGS="${CXXFLAGS} -I%{_includedir}/et"; export CXXFLAGS
I suspect it is overwritte by %configure , which uses RPM_OPT_FLAGS.
export RPM_OPT_FLAGS="$RPM_OPT_FLAGS -I{_includedir}/et" ...
