--- Comment #3 from Per Jessen
maybe I wasn't very clear. Syslog and rsyslog can optionally be installed, but by default this role is taken by systemd-logger. Attempting to install rsyslog/syslog-ng yields:
Problem: systemd-logger-244-3.1.x86_64 conflicts with namespace:otherproviders(syslog) provided by rsyslog-8.39.0-6.1.x86_64 Solution 1: deinstallation of systemd-logger-244-3.1.x86_64 Solution 2: do not install rsyslog-8.39.0-6.1.x86_64
So, in order to allow postfix to have functional logs by default, it would be good if it was configured in a way to allow systemd-logger able to function without the need to install rsyslog/syslog-ng.
I assume systemd-logger is intended as a drop-in replacement for syslog-ng and/or rsyslog, so postfix ought to just work with no adjustment needed. Maybe a problem in systemd-logger? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
