http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1156175 Bug ID: 1156175 Summary: Terminal input over SSH breaks with non-en UTF-8 locale Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: MicroOS Assignee: kubic-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: fvogt@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- ssh sends the LANG environment variable when connecting to a server. However, MicroOS does not support any UTF-8 locales other than en_US.UTF-8/C.UTF-8, so it seems to fall back to a non-UTF-8 one. This breaks input of multi-byte characters:
favogt@futec01:~> lsö<backspace> -bash: $'ls\303': command not found
Either the fallback has to be improved or SSH configured in a way to not accept unsupported locales. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
