The log shows that GRUB was installed into /dev/sda and the installation
returned no error. Even the disk order seems to be correct - sda as the first
disk, which should be exactly what you need to boot it.
I cannot see any obvious reason why booting should not work. After all, when
you boot from the DVD and select local disk, it boots (I assume that it starts
the GRUB bootloader, right?)
To me it looks like a firmware problem; could you check whether it is really
set to boot from /dev/sda, alternatively, is there any output that could help?
Maybe a general problem with your BIOS handling GPT partition table?
