I neglected to mention "xrandr --listproviders; inxi -Gxx" was supposed to be
run in Konsole or Xterm, and Mesa-demo-x was not installed, so some expected
data was not returned.
If you could attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log retrieved immediately following
discovery that a screen has not recovered after locking, it might provide a
clue why. ~/.xsession-errors might as well.
Inxi is suggesting you are using multiple DDX drivers (modesetting and radeon).
I think it may be mistaken. A look at /var/log/Xorg.0.log would confirm. You
might try using only the default DDX, modesetting. To do so, easiest is simply
to zypper rm xf86-video-ati.
