http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1132445 Bug ID: 1132445 Summary: dns-mgr: could not commit DNS changes: Error calling netconfig: exited with status 20 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.0 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: Ulrich.Windl@rz.uni-regensburg.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Today I was not able to connect to the Internet, even after multiple re-plugging the cable. As it turned out, the problem was that no nameserver was written to /etc/resolv.conf. As a work-around, I added the server returned from DHCP to /etc/resolv.conf to be able to write this bug report. In the journal I find: [...] NetworkManager[7316]: <info> [1555186618.8259] dhcp4 (eth0): nameserver '192.168.178.1' [...] NetworkManager[7316]: <info> [1555186618.8260] dhcp4 (eth0): state changed unknown -> bound NetworkManager[7316]: <info> [1555186618.8267] policy: set 'DHCP' (eth0) as default for IPv4 routing and DNS [...] dns-resolver[12171]: ATTENTION: You have modified /etc/resolv.conf. Leaving it untouched... NetworkManager[7316]: <13>Apr 13 22:16:58 dns-resolver: ATTENTION: You have modified /etc/resolv.conf. Leaving it untouched... That was nonsense: The file consisted only of comments, warning that I should not modify it. <warn> [1555186618.9046] dns-mgr: could not commit DNS changes: Error calling netconfig: exited with status 20 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
