This is rather a feature request for YaST Bootloader to act as some kind of sanitizer for old clutter present in the command-line.
I did select "Enhancement" for "Severity". :) FWIW, I've never before comment 3 here seen any evidence that showopts was utilized to initialize the installer. It's not found on https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Linuxrc
It's a good idea and a very good fit for a "junior job". Assigning to yast-community to be picked.
The bug 261784 fix might be a place to start looking for a junior with interest to work this. The presence of showopts in any grub* stanza seems always to have originated from YaST Bootloader affecting DEFAULT_APPEND= in /etc/sysconfig/bootloader or GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX*= in /etc/default/grub. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
