http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1129646 Bug ID: 1129646 Summary: NetworkManager does not work with IWD Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: samantham@posteo.net QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:67.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/67.0 Build Identifier: IWD is an alternative to wpa_supplicant. iwd is a package available in the main repos for OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, but NetworkManager is not compiled with the '--use-iwd' flag. The '--use-iwd' flag does not require iwd to compile, so there should be no changed required other than the flag to the package. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install IWD 2. sudo systemctl stop wpa_supplicant 3. sudo systemctl start iwd 4. edit the file /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/wifi_backend.conf and insert the text: [device] wifi.backend=iwd 5. Run sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager Actual Results: Wifi does not work Expected Results: Wifi should work. If you download the NetworkManager source package and compile it, but with the addition of the --with-iwd flag, then the networking works. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
